The pool will open for the 2023 Summer Season on May 26, 2023. Lifeguard training will be provided May 23, 24 & 25, 2023. More information to come. All on-line registrations will open May 1, 2023. Starting June 6, 2023 through July 27, 2023 the Lap pool will be closed between 5:30pm and 7:00pm for Swim Team Practice. The Rec Pool and Grills will remain available for public use during this time. Both Pools will reopen at 7:00pm for everyone until the regular closing time of 8pm. *Due to 80 children in the Twilight Swim Team Program, participants are encouraged to NOT use the Rec Pool during swim team practice hours in an effort to help staff better manage the rec pool and so your child is prepared for practice.

Diving Dolphins Swim Team:
The swim team camp for 2023 will start June 5 and end July 27. The dates for the swim meets are tentatively scheduled for Avon Rec Center June 23, 2023, EagleVail Swimming Pool July 28, 2023 and Eagle Swimming Pool will not host a swim meet this year.
Purpose:
The diving dolphins swim team camp is a recreational league that focuses on swim technique and fitness. Kids will learn fundamentals and refinement of all 4 strokes, racing technique, racing strategy, and good sportsmanship. Swimming is a complex skill that takes focus and dedication. As a part of the community our swim team is dedicated to being a fun and safe environment for kids to learn, grow, and feel empowered with a skill they can keep forever.

Prerequisites:
Swim Team Less Experienced Swimmers - Must be 6 years or older to participate. The child must be able to tread water for 1 min and swim 25 meters/yards freestyle unaided. The kids in this category are eligible to participate in swim meets, if the coach deems the child ready.
Swim Team More Experienced Swimmers - Must be 6 years or older to participate. The child must be able to swim 50 meters/yards freestyle without stopping and must have a basic knowledge of all four strokes. The kids in this category are eligible to participate in swim meets.
Swim Meets:
Swim meets are optional, and entries will be assigned the Monday before the meet at the coach’s discretion. Children 6-9 years old swim 25 yards/meters in each event and children 10+ years old swim 50 yards/meters in each event. Relays are encouraged and will be assigned the Monday before. Please make sure to let the head coach know if you are unable to attend the meet the week before each meet. If you are unable to confirm your child’s participation in the meet your child will not be entered.
Gear:
EagleVail provides a swim cap, kickboard and flippers. Child must bring their own goggles.

Adult Stroke Correction Clinic
Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 7:30am to 8:30am. Starting June 6.
Abigail O’Brien, graduate of Wyoming Catholic College, has recently moved to Edwards, where she will be working as a teacher this fall. She grew up in New Hampshire, where she was a competitive swimmer throughout middle school and high school, and swam both for her high school Varsity team, as well as a USA Swimming club team. She spent four years as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Since entering college, she has expanded her instructing to include work in the backcountry, as a professional backpacking instructor and Wilderness First Responder. Last summer, she instructed a 21 day backpacking trip for college freshman. Abigail is thrilled to be coaching and swim instructing for the EagleVail Swimming Pool this summer.

There are four age/skill categories: Starfish - Introduction to basic water skills (ages:0-2); Seahorses - Some basic water skills with aid of parent or alone (not able to submerge, float or propel themselves) (ages:2-3) *PARENTAL PARTICIPATION IN THE WATER REQUIRED FOR STARFISH & SEAHORSES*
Nemos - Basic water skills (propel themselves three yards in water, able to fully submerge in water, float on back and blow bubbles) (ages: 4-5), and Flying Fish - Refining swimming skills in preparation for Swim Team (can swim ten yards on front or back, tread water, blow bubbles) (ages 6 & up)
